Giving is part of Caring

Archeus is a small business with a big heart. From our inception, we do what we can to give funds to support ecological and women’s projects each year.

Every purchase made on our website helps make this happen, so thank you for being part of creating a kinder world.

Here are some of the orgainsations and projects we have given funds and time to over the years.

Argyll East Primary School

Located ten minutes from Otane and Waipawa, Argyll East School was the first school I went to when my family immigrated to New Zealand in the 1970s.

Today, Argyll is a small, caring, country school with a focus on the environment. The beautiful Mangaotai creek, flows around the school and provides outdoor education and lots of fun. Other features at Argyll school are their wetland, farm and riparian plantings. Archeus has donated funds and time to support the ecological restoration activites undertaken by the pupils and staff.

About the school

Women's Refuge

At Archeus we belive in the power of women helping women, and for a number of years we donated funds to Women's Refuge to support the work they do across Aotearoa to support women and children experiencing family violence.

Tiwaiwaka

Tīwaiwaka was first put to paper by Rob McGowan, (known as Pā Ropata to many) a prominent Rongoā Māori practitioner, well respected for his work in the restoration of Rongoā Māori practise and traditional knowledge of native plants and medicines in Aotearoa New Zealand.

Tīwaiwaka is a set of Principles and a collective of people committed to restoring the mauri of the whenua.

Pā and Georgina have known each other for many years and spent time together in the bush exploring the healing power of plants, so it seemed only natural for Archeus to donate funds to Tiwaiwaka to support the publication of the Tiwaiwaka Book.

Cyclone Gabrielle

In the aftermath of Cyclone Gabrielle in 2023, I created a special Love & Resilience Plant Essence blend from plants growing in the Archeus gardens to help raise funds for victims of the cyclone here in Hawke's Bay. Archeus donated around $2000 between February-May 2023 to the Hawke's Bay Mayoral Relief Fund.

Millennium Seed Bank

In the heart of rural Sussex in England, at Wakehurst Place, gardens run by the Royal Botanics Gardens of Kew, lies a treasure trove of scientific excellence.

The Millennium Seed Bank hides an underground collection of over 2.4 billion seeds from around the world, banking them to conserve them for the future.  Archeus has donated funds for seed collection and conservation.

Archeus has donated product to the Heretaunga Women's Centre in Hastings. Georgina has also donated her time to develop and run workhops on end of life care.

Women's Health Events

Archeus has supported a number of women's health events (particularly with a focus on menopause) by providing NatFem samples and goodie bags, and also as a speaker.
