The 12th Century abbess, Hildegard of Bingen remains a truly inspirational woman.
I wanted to paint an aromatic portait of her that conjured the gardens of her abbey where so many went for her wisdom and her medicine (including me!). I wanted it to resonate with her own love of the divine feminine.
I wanted it to have a sense of freedom and raw sensuality, as well as power and mysticism. It is a love letter to an extraordinary woman. And when worn on your skin, it enables you to 'draw down' Hildegard's essence into your very being. She is there with you, helping you navigate our changing world and helping you, be the change that we wish for.
This is a natural perfume and does not contain any synthetic fragrances.
TOP NOTES
A fleeting sensation of citrus and heliotrope and sage lead one further into the garden of delights.
MIDDLE NOTES
Exquisitely green and floral, like walking in the walled herb garden at Hildegard's abbey.
BASE NOTES
A hint of smoke and incense and the damp, deep green of oakmoss.

A Woman for Our Times
Hildegard of Bingen (1098-1179) was an abbess, healer, mystic, artist, composer and diplomat who lived in the Rhineland of Germany in the 1100s and left an extraordinary legacy that is as relevant today as ever.
Her ideas, herbal and healing knoweldge, and her art and music creates resonances beyond those of her deep christian faith. She described a spirituality deeply connected to Nature and the cosmos. In many ways she was a shaman, a feminist, and a true Earth Goddess.
